Ransom Wear - Freedom Never Felt So Good
The Story
Many people are familiar with the country of Nepal because it is home to some of the tallest mountains in the world, including Mount Everest.  But Nepal is also home to thousands of young women who have been kidnapped, tricked, or sold into sexual slavery in the country of India.  Without intervention, these women will remain in brutal captivity with little hope of ever returning home alive.
Ransom Wear partners with Nepalis, many of which were once enslaved in the brothels of India and now seek to bring an awareness to this problem by  providing a means of rescuing other women.  Raids on brothels are occasionally successful, but more often than not, a woman's freedom must be purchased. Any involvement, whether willingly or otherwise, with a brothel brings shame and often ostracism back home.  Many are shunned by society and even their families.  They have little to live for.
Our workers provide compassionate care, counseling, medical screenings and services, a safe place to stay and job skills.  These women are equipped and encouraged to become positive assets in their society.  Many use their skills to start businesses and then reach out to others in their communities.  We believe that teaching people to fish is more valuable in the long run than simply giving fish away.
Ransom Wear purchases items made by several of these rescued women and markets the products worldwide.  This not only helps provide a good living for these women, but it also allows them to help in the fight to free more victims.  When you purchase Ransom Wear, you play a vital role in the rescue and restoration of these women.  Ransom Wear generously contributes funds that will:
  • Help fund the physical act of rescue
  • Provide counseling to the rescued women
  • Provide safe lodging during the initial adjustment phase
  • Provide health evaluations and services by a physician including testing for HIV/AIDS
  • Provide job training to equip the women with various skills needed in their culture
  • Offer an excellent living wage job as an alternative to returning to the hopeless sex trade
  • Provide preventative education
  • Place workers at border check points who partner with Nepali border guards to stop girls from being trafficked into India

Please consider purchasing Ransom Wear and make a difference in the life of someone who needs your help. As a non-profit humanitarian organization, we also gladly accept donations to help in our cause.  All gifts are tax deductible. Ransom Wear. Freedom never felt so good!

Good News to Report: Because of our comprehensive work, women are rescued at different stages.  As mentioned above, many go through terrible experiences and must be literally ransomed from their situation.  However, there is also good news regarding this fight. Many women are stopped at the borders by our skilled workers and returned home.  Others, due to preventative education, realize what is happening and refuse to believe the lies of the perpetrators.  These are success stories that we love to hear!  Yet, there are untold numbers of unreached, uneducated women that we have yet to find.
